Freelance Graphic Designer – Historical Infographics Jobs in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain at Twine
This role involves creating compelling visual content for a history book that explores the evolution of humans from 300,000 years ago to the present. The project requires the design of detailed maps, timelines, and graphs to illustrate key historical developments and milestones. The freelancer will collaborate closely with the author to ensure that all visuals are accurate, engaging, and tailored to the book’s narrative. The position is based in Barcelona, Spain, and requires on-site work for the duration of the project, which is expected to last 4 to 6 weeks.
Deliverables
- Design and produce high-quality maps that depict human migration, settlement patterns, and significant historical events.
- Create clear and informative timelines that highlight major periods and transitions in human evolution.
- Develop graphs and charts to visualize demographic, cultural, and technological changes over time.
- Ensure all visuals are consistent with the book’s style and accessible to a general audience.
- Collaborate with the author to revise and refine graphics based on feedback.
- Prepare final files for print publication, ensuring all technical specifications are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience in infographic, map, and timeline design, preferably for books or educational materials.
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop) and other relevant design tools.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to translate complex historical data into clear, engaging visuals.
- Ability to work on-site in Barcelona for the duration of the project.
- Strong communication skills and ability to incorporate feedback effectively.
- Background in history, anthropology, or related fields is a plus.
