Our client, an American retailer that owns and operates 4 brands that are well known, is looking for someone to join their team as a Fashion Designer. This role is in New York City.
*This is a W2 contract*
In this role, you’ll partner cross-functionally across Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, Sourcing, and Marketing to bring innovative concepts to life, from idea through execution.
What You Will Be Doing
- Research global markets to identify emerging seasonal trends, silhouettes, fabrics, and techniques (with strong focus on Outerwear and Shirting)
- Translate competitive insights and trend research into actionable product concepts
- Develop sketches, CADs, and presentation materials for internal reviews and leadership presentations
- Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, GIS, and Marketing to ensure seamless concept-to-customer execution
- Support tech pack development and communicate design intent to ensure fit, quality, and margin targets are achieved
- Maintain presentation boards (Miro, CAD decks, and seasonal storytelling tools)
- Participate in weekly fittings with Product Development and Technical teams
- Help lead key product initiatives and contribute to seasonal design direction
Required Skills & Experience
- 4+ years of fashion design experience
- Woven experience
- Brings strong trend awareness and market curiosity
- Has a passion for elevated product and customer-first design thinking
- Is comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
- Has a strong point of view and isn’t afraid to take thoughtful creative risks
- Thrives in collaborative, inclusive, and creative team settings
