Enjoy the creative and meaningful work that drew you to a career in publishing, but without the corporate politics, unnecessary meetings, red tape, or daily commute.
Join the fast-growing team of former acquisitions editors and literary agents at KAA—and spend your working hours actually editing books and empowering authors.
The role of Executive Editor will focus exclusively on hands-on creative work with authors, agents, and publishers, including building books from the ground up and evaluating and editing full-length manuscripts and pitch materials. Along with working on big titles with major publishers, you will also have an opportunity to help writers who are typically shut out by traditional publishing.
The ideal candidate will have experience with multiple genres, though we are most interested in an editor with a strong background in commercial fiction.
This role also includes cultivating and nurturing potential and existing relationships with agents, publishers, editors, and authors. Sales commission bonuses will be granted for bringing in business related to our firm’s services.
As a member of the management team, the Executive Editor will be a key contributor to the ongoing development of the company, including keeping the team informed about market trends and offering insight into potential growth opportunities.
We are open to applications from both US- and UK-based candidates.
