Position: Engaging Harmonies and Choir Educator for Grades 2-8
Join the journey of musical exploration as an Engaging Harmonies and Choir Educator. This permanent part-time position is dedicated to teaching children essential music skills in a stimulating environment.
In this role, you will teach harmonics and choir to students in Grades 2-8, incorporating singing, percussion, and basic music theory. This position prioritizes adaptable lesson planning in accordance with Waldorf principles, while also assessing student progress and collaborating with parents to ensure every child’s success inside and outside the classroom.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct students in choir, singing, and music theory
• Design lessons consistent with Waldorf and BC standards
• Evaluate and document student progress
• Lead parent meetings and communication efforts
• Engage in school festivals and events beyond classroom hours
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Music and/or Education
• Certification to teach in BC or qualifying eligibility
• Understanding of Waldorf Education philosophies
• Experience working with diverse age ranges
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills
