Digital Merchandising & Editorial Manager Jobs in New York City Metropolitan Area at Retrofête
The Digital Merchandising & Editorial Manager will lead site merchandising and product presentation across Retrofete.com and Seroya.nyc. They will be responsible for translating merchandising strategies into compelling online experiences that drive conversion, maximize product performance, and support overall business objective.
Reporting directly into the Chief Merchandising Officer, the Digital Merchandising & Editorial Manager will be the bridge between Merchandising, eCommerce, Digital, Marketing, and Creative teams to ensure our products are presented in the most effective and on-brand way across all digital touch points.
Responsibilities:
Site Merchandising & Product Strategy
- Own daily site merchandising for Retrofête and Seroya, ensuring products are presented in a compelling, customer-focused manner.
- Develop and maintain category, collection, and landing page strategies that support business goals and seasonal priorities.
- Optimize product sorting, product recommendations, cross-selling opportunities, and on-site search functionality.
- Partner with Merchandising and Planning teams to identify opportunities based on inventory levels, sell-through performance, and business needs.
- Manage product launches, collection drops, capsule releases, and promotional merchandising strategies.
- Monitor product performance and customer behavior to continually improve conversion, engagement, and average order value.
Email Merchandising
- Lead product merchandising for all email marketing campaigns, ensuring strategies and campaign ideas align with the seasonal creative direction and merchandising priorities outlined by the Creative Director and Chief Merchandising Officer.
- Partner closely with Marketing, eCommerce, and Art teams to develop product assortments that align with campaign objectives, customer segmentation strategies, and creative direction.
- Curate and develop product life edits and collections that support business initiatives and inventory priorities, aligning with key occasions, seasonal moments, and customer needs to drive both inspiration and conversion.
- Analyze email merchandising performance and continuously refine assortment strategies based on results
AI & Digital Optimization
- Leverage AI-powered tools and emerging technologies to improve merchandising efficiency, product discovery, content optimization, and customer experience.
- Partner with eCommerce, Marketing, and Technology teams to identify opportunities to utilize AI in site search, product recommendations, personalization, customer segmentation, and merchandising analytics.
- Utilize AI tools to accelerate reporting, trend analysis, assortment insights, and merchandising decision-making.
- Stay informed on emerging AI technologies and digital commerce best practices, bringing forward recommendations that enhance operational efficiency and drive revenue growth.
Reporting & Analytics
- Analyze key performance metrics including conversion, click-through rates, sell-through, product engagement, revenue, and average order value.
- Develop regular reporting and recommendations to improve product visibility and overall site performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve navigation, category structure, search optimization, and customer journey.
- Leverage data to influence merchandising decisions and business strategies
Brand Merchandising Support
- Support the Chief Merchandising Officer and broader merchandising team on assortment, collection, and product strategy initiatives as needed.
- Assist with seasonal merchandising reviews, competitive analysis, and market research.
- Contribute insights from digital performance to support broader brand merchandising decisions.
Qualifications:
- 5-8+ years of experience in Digital Merchandising, eCommerce Merchandising, or related retail merchandising roles.
- Fashion, luxury, contemporary, or premium retail experience strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of digital customer behavior and eCommerce best practices.
- Strong understanding of fashion trends, consumer behavior, and the competitive landscape, with the ability to translate trend insights into compelling online assortments and product storytelling.
- Demonstrated ability to style and merchandise products with a deep understanding of end-use occasions, customer lifestyles, and how products are work and purchased together.
- Highly analytical with advanced proficiency in Excel and reporting tools.
- Experience working with Shopify, Google Analytics, and merchandising platforms preferred.
- Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence cross-functional partners.
