We're The Start – a creative studio in the heart of Perth City. We're a tight-knit team of imaginators crafting creative solutions that help our clients' businesses do more, go further and make a bigger dent – across design, marketing, and technology.
We're working with a string of epic businesses around Australia including Wesley College, The Prendiville Group (Hotel Rottnest, Tigerfish, Cottesloe Beach Hotel, etc), Perth Airport, The Rechabite, Innerspace, Fremantle Arts Centre, and more.

With a bunch of new and exciting projects on the horizon, we're on the hunt for a Digital Designer to join us – someone with a sharp eye, strong fundamentals, and a real love for the craft.
We're after a well-rounded designer who's comfortable moving between web, and brand work. Web design experience is ideal, but a genuine interest in it is enough if the rest of your portfolio shows us how you think. We're open on level – junior, mid-weight or senior – and will shape the role around the right person. What matters most is taste, curiosity, and the ability to turn a brief into something genuinely good.
You'll be working alongside our Creative Director, Designers, Marketers and Developers on everything from full website builds to social campaigns to brand work. We want someone who'll get stuck in, ask good questions, and carve out a role in the areas they shine.
What you'll be doing:
- Designing websites that look great, work hard and feel considered – across desktop and mobile, from concept through to handover.
- Crafting social content and campaign assets that stop the scroll – static, motion, and everything in between.
- Helping evolve and maintain client brands across digital and print touchpoints – keeping things consistent without being precious.
- Working on broader graphic design projects: marketing collateral, presentations, print – whatever the work calls for.
- Collaborating with our developers to make sure what you design is what gets built (and pushing for the details that make a site feel premium).
- Concepting visual ideas alongside our marketing and creative teams – bringing strong thinking, not just strong execution.
- Keeping across design trends, tools and emerging tech (AI included) and bringing fresh thinking to how we work.
- Supporting the wider team on whatever creative projects are on the go – we're small, so flexibility goes a long way.
You'll fit right in if you have:
- A folio that shows real craft – strong typography, layout, hierarchy and attention to detail.
- Web design experience or a clear interest in it (Figma fluency is a big plus).
- A good feel for social – what works, what doesn't, and how a brand should show up across different platforms.
- An understanding of brand systems and how to apply them consistently across touchpoints.
- Confidence across the Adobe suite and a good handle on designing for digital first.
- A curious brain – into AI, new tools, and figuring out how to make better work, faster.
