We are seeking a highly disciplined Design Project Manager to lead the technical and operational execution of our projects. This role serves as the primary link between the Studio Principal and Design Director’s creative vision and its final realization.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all design intent is translated into precise documentation and executed on-site. This position requires a focus on technical detail, problem-solving, professional follow-through, and the ability to adapt to evolving project circumstances.
Key Responsibilities
- Execution: Translate high-level creative direction into technical documentation, ensuring the studio’s aesthetic integrity is maintained through every project phase.
- Project Oversight: Manage project schedules, budgets, and deliverables from initial concept through final installation.
- Flexibility and Problem-Solving: Maintain project quality and pace by effectively managing changes in scope, site variables, or schedules; keep Studio Directors informed of any developments that could affect studio resources or project timelines.
- Consultant Coordination: Act as the primary point of contact for architects, contractors, and consultants to ensure technical requirements align with design intent.
- Construction Administration: Lead the CA phase with a focus on technical accuracy, resolving site challenges, and reviewing submittals to ensure a seamless build.
- Communication: Maintain professional and consistent correspondence with all stakeholders, ensuring a high level of accountability and progress reporting.
Qualifications & Technical Skills
- Professional Background: A minimum of 4 years of project management experience in a high-end architecture or interior design firm, including a portfolio of completed built projects.
- Software Competency: Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Enscape; familiarity with project management platforms is also encouraged.
- Professional Standards: Demonstrates a consistent history of follow-through and the ability to manage team members and external partners with clarity.
- Organization: Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple complex workflows and adapt to project-specific needs while upholding the studio’s standards of quality.
