Job Title: Design Head – Retail Interiors

Key Responsibilities
1. Concept Design & Experience (Core Role)
- Develop strong design concepts for retail showrooms and corporate spaces
- Translate brand identity into physical environments
- Define overall look & feel including layouts, materials, colors, and lighting
- Design customer and user journey to improve experience and usability
- Ensure concepts are creative, practical, and aligned with business goals
2. Retail Design (Primary Focus)
- Plan and design retail showrooms across categories (optical, garments, Pharmacy, jewelry, Cosmetic, Watches, kiosks, etc.)
- Optimize customer flow, product visibility, and space utilization
- Design effective display systems and fixtures
- Focus on improving sales through better design and layout
3. Corporate / Workspace Design (Secondary)
- Design office spaces, experience centers, and work environments
- Plan layouts for functionality, team movement, and space efficiency
- Ensure balance between aesthetics and usability
4. Space Planning & Zoning
- Create efficient layouts for different formats and project types
- Define zoning for display, work areas, meeting spaces, storage, etc.
- Adapt concepts based on space size and client requirements
5. Design Standardization & Rollout
- Develop design guidelines and templates for repeat projects
- Ensure consistency in brand identity across multiple locations
- Create scalable and modular design solutions
6. Technical Direction
- Guide team on layouts, working drawings, and detailing
- Review designs to ensure feasibility and execution clarity
- Provide inputs on materials, finishes, and fixture design
- Work closely with production team for alignment
7. Internal Coordination
- Work with sales team to understand client requirements
- Coordinate with production and project teams for smooth execution
- Ensure designs are practical, manufacturable, and efficient
8. Vendor & Material Understanding
- Suggest appropriate materials, finishes, and lighting
- Stay updated with market trends and innovations
- Ensure balance between cost, quality, and design
9. Team Leadership
- Lead and manage the design team
- Review and approve concepts and outputs
- Train team on retail and practical design approach
- Establish structured design processes
10. Innovation & Improvement
- Bring new ideas in retail experience and workspace design
- Improve design quality and efficiency across projects
- Stay updated with industry trends
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in retail interior design (mandatory)
- Exposure to corporate/workspace design.
- Strong understanding of customer requirement, space planning, and product display.
- Hands-on knowledge of AutoCAD (mandatory), SketchUp/3D (preferred)
- Ability to create practical, execution-friendly concepts
- Experience handling multiple projects simultaneously.
