Design Director & Studio Manager

We are seeking an experienced Design Director & Studio Manager to join our growing interior architecture / interior design studio. This is a unique dual-role leadership position that blends hands-on design leadership with studio operations, mentorship and resource management.
About the Role
You will oversee studio staffing and workflow while directly managing a portfolio of 5–10 interior design projects. Reporting to firm leadership, you’ll ensure high-quality project delivery, team performance, and studio profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead studio resource planning, staffing, and project scheduling across the team
- Manage multiple client projects end-to-end as the primary point of contact
- Provide creative direction and design oversight to maintain high standards
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and profitability
- Mentor and develop design team members while fostering collaboration
Requirements
- 10+ years of interior design experience (hospitality, workplace, residential, senior living, or related sectors)
- Proven track record managing multiple projects and client relationships
- Strong project management, budgeting, and team leadership skills
- Excellent design sensibility with the ability to guide creative teams
- Highly organized, collaborative, and business-minded
