Our client is seeking a Design Director to serve as the creative North Star and operational backbone of our design team for a DTC health and wellness brand. This is a high-impact role for a leader who is as passionate about mentorship and process as they are about world-class visual aesthetics. You will be responsible for ensuring a unified "look and feel" across all brand touchpoints, co-owning our Brand Guidelines, and optimizing the systems, specifically ClickUp and our DAM, that empower our designers to do their best work.

Core Responsibilities

Team Mentorship: Lead, coach, and inspire a team of designers. Conduct regular

creative reviews and 1:1s to elevate the craft and career growth of the team.

Brand Guardianship: In partnership with the Brand Team, co-own and evolve the

official Brand Guidelines. Ensure every piece of output is aligned with our visual identity.

Design Approvals: Act as the final "eyes" on high-priority projects, ensuring quality,

consistency, and strategic alignment before work goes live.

Operational Excellence: Own and organize the DAM (Digital Asset Management)

system to ensure assets are accessible, tagged correctly, and up-to-date.

Workflow Optimization: Monitor and refine our ClickUp environment. While you aren’t

a dedicated Project Manager, you will help design and implement the workflows that

keep the team efficient and on deadline.

Hero Projects: Lead the design for high-stakes initiatives, new brand launches, or

complex creative problems that require a veteran hand.

System Building: Develop templates, UI kits, and design patterns that the wider team

can use to scale their output.

Standard Setting: Dive into the tools (Figma, Adobe Suite, etc.) to set the visual "bar"

for the team to follow.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: 8+ years in design, with 3+ years in a leadership or management capacity.

Experience with CPG DTC strongly preferred

Portfolio: A strong portfolio demonstrating a mastery of brand systems, typography, and

multi-channel campaigns.

Systems Fluency: Deep familiarity with ClickUp (or similar PM tools) and the ability to

build/optimize project workflows.

Asset Management: Experience managing or implementing a DAM system to keep a

growing library of assets organized.

The "Coach" Mentality: You find more professional fulfillment in your team’s success

than in your own individual accolades.

Strategic Communication: You can articulate the why behind design decisions to

non-design stakeholders and executives.

Process-Oriented: You believe that a great creative output is the result of a great

creative process.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Proven ability to partner with diver teams (e.g. Brand,

Performance Creative, Sales) to deliver cohesive, business-aligned results.

Design: Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).

Project Management: ClickUp (Admin-level familiarity is a huge plus).

Organization: Experience with DAM platforms (e.g., Pics.io, Brandfolder, Bynder etc)
