The art team plays a critical role in the customer experience. Customers need proofs quickly, revisions handled accurately, and artwork prepared correctly so orders can move into production without delays. This role is ideal for someone who is creative, highly detail-oriented, fast in Adobe Illustrator, and comfortable balancing multiple projects with tight turnaround times.
Responsibilities
- Communicate with sales managers and teammates to understand customers' design needs
- Create original vector-based apparel designs from customer ideas, references, sketches, or written direction
- Recreate, clean up, or convert customer-provided artwork into usable vector format
- Place customer designs on appropriate apparel templates for accurate artwork proofs
- Check sizing, placement, colors, fonts, spelling, logo quality, and overall proof accuracy
- Manage revisions carefully and maintain accuracy across multiple versions of a design
- Prepare clean, organized, production-ready artwork for screen printing, embroidery, and other decoration methods
- Identify potential artwork or decoration issues before they cause production delays
- Keep artwork files organized and clearly labeled so designs can move smoothly through proofing and production
Qualifications
- Advanced Adobe Illustrator skills, especially with vector artwork, typography, paths, layers, file cleanup, and production-ready design files
- Experience creating unique vector graphics and converting bitmap images into vector images
- Ability to manage multiple fast-moving projects at once, often with same-day or within-hours artwork turnaround
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable navigating order management systems, databases, or ticketing queues to track and update project statuses
- Familiarity with screen printing, embroidery, heat transfer, or other apparel decoration methods preferred (but not required)
