Position: Curator, Photography Role at Art Gallery of Ontario
Become an integral part of the Art Gallery of Ontario as the Associate Curator for Photography. Develop exhibitions that resonate with audiences in Toronto and beyond.
The AGO is searching for a full-time Associate Curator, Photography to enhance their curatorial team. This role focuses on planning the photography collection and executing significant exhibitions, contributing to the gallery’s goals and public understanding of art. You will play a crucial part in the upcoming Dani Reiss Modern and Contemporary Gallery, slated to open in 2027.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage installations and liaise with various departments

• Curate and produce exhibitions showcasing photography’s history

• Identify and acquire art pieces for the permanent collection

• Lead committee meetings related to acquisitions and exhibitions

• Promote AGO within the art community, both local and international
Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Art History or a relevant field

• Five years of exhibition organization experience required

• Strong negotiation and public relations skills

• Demonstrated expertise in research and writing

• Experience with collections management systems
