Overview
Creative Strategy Lead Jobs in Subang Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia at REFORM
As the Creative Strategy Lead at REFORM, you will be responsible for raising the quality of ideas, storytelling and campaign thinking across the agency.
You will be the bridge between bold, boundary-pushing creativity and execution logic. We are looking for a charismatic leader and a master storyteller who knows how to translate client objectives into "out-of-the-box" creative campaigns that actually work.
You will lead a team of creative strategists, ensuring that every proposal produced is not only visually and conceptually impressive but also operationally feasible, grounded in data, and framed in "client language" to guarantee high buy-in. When a massive pitch is on the line, you are the one stepping into the room to assist and sell the narrative to close the deal.
You will be working closely with Growth, Account Management, Strategy, Campaigns and Production to turn client briefs into compelling, commercially effective campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creative & Strategic Leadership
- Inspire, mentor, and lead a team of creative strategists. Cultivate a culture of disruptive thinking while instilling the discipline needed to meet tight agency deadlines.
- Lead, guide and mentor the Creative Strategy team to think beyond formats, content calendars and executional ideas.
- Help build a department that is known for stronger insights, sharper campaign ideas and better storytelling
2. Insight Discovery & Client-Centric Ideation
- Turn client briefs into meaningful opportunities by identifying the deeper human truth, audience behaviour, cultural tension or business problem behind the brief.
- You should be able to ask: What is the client really trying to solve? What does the audience truly care about? What insight can unlock a stronger idea?
- Your role is to help the team find the thinking that makes the campaign matter.
3. Big Idea Development
- Develop campaign platforms and creative concepts that are simple, memorable, distinctive and commercially relevant.
- Every major proposal should clearly answer: “What is the one big idea this campaign stands for?”
- You will help ensure our ideas are not just creative for the sake of being creative, but are connected to client KPIs, brand objectives and audience behaviour.
4. Proposal Architecture & Storytelling
- Oversee the end-to-end development of creative proposals. Ensure that every idea is highly imaginative, distinct, and deeply rooted in the client's core KPIs and brand objectives.
- You know how to speak "client language," anticipating their pain points and structuring concepts so they are instantly digestible, compelling, and easy for external & internal stakeholders to buy into.
- You will help structure proposals so they are clear, persuasive and insight-led
5. Integrated Campaign Thinking
- Ensure campaign ideas can live across multiple channels and touchpoints.
- This may include: Social content, Influencer marketing, PR angles, events and activations, paid media, video content, digital experiences and community engagement
- Clients should not see disconnected tactics. They should see one cohesive campaign idea expressed consistently across every channel.
6. Creative Ideation & Execution Quality Control
- You will review and challenge creative ideation & execution plans before it goes out.
- Balance raw creativity with operational reality. You ensure the team never pitches "pipe dreams", every concept must be realistic and execution-ready.
- You will ask: Is the insight strong enough? Is the idea clear enough? Is the campaign memorable? Does every channel support the same idea?Is the execution realistic?
7. Pitch Support & Creative Selling
- You will confidently present and justify the creative narrative to ensure the vision lands perfectly.
- Help clients understand the strategic and emotional value of the idea.
- Step in as the creative voice during key client pitches.
- Support Sales and Account Management in high-stakes opportunities
8. Team Development & Creative Culture
- Help build a stronger creative culture within REFORM.
- Mentor young creative strategists
- Run brainstorming sessions and share creative references
- Encourage curiosity about brands, culture and consumer behaviour in the team
- Helping the team think conceptually, not just executionally
- Creating momentum, energy and enthusiasm around ideas
You should make the people around you better.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 4+ years of experience in creative strategy, brand planning, integrated marketing or copywriting within a digital advertising or creative agency, with at least 1-2 year in a leadership role. Strong portfolio or case studies showing campaign thinking, not just content execution.
- Storytelling & Presentation: You are a strong communicator who can write and present ideas clearly. Build compelling proposal narratives, write sharp headlines and simplify complex thinking
- Media Planning Background (Huge Bonus): Strong understanding of modern media planning. You know exactly which mediums, digital touchpoints, and formats (TikTok, IG, experiential, KOL etc.) are required to successfully push out a "Big Idea" and amplify a campaign narrative.
