Job Title: Creative Producer (Project Based, Freelance Contract).

Location: London Bridge- Hybrid, other locations will be considered (with occasional on-site shoots if needed)

Reports To: Creative Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a creative, resourceful, and detail-oriented Creative Producer to lead the ideation and development of original, high-quality content for our crime-focused YouTube channel and across socials. From unsolved mysteries and true crime documentaries to investigative series and criminal psychology explainers, our content aims to inform, engage, and captivate a loyal audience on digital and beyond.

The ideal candidate has experience developing content for digital platforms, a passion for true crime, and a sharp editorial eye. This role requires both impeccable research and casting skills, on-set production and direction brilliance, and publishing skills. . You will be responsible for shaping compelling narratives from research through to production and distribution with a positive mindset and willingness to get stuck in.

This is a rare opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to crafting brand new content across a new owned and operated YouTube and social channels, and beyond.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Development: Generate and develop original ideas for video series and one-off episodes based on true crime, cold cases, criminal psychology, forensics, and more, in line with creative and compliance parameters agreed with key stakeholders, for YouTube, Spotify socials and broadcast/streaming media. Develop strategies that align with agreed goals
  • Research: Own in-depth research and source contributors to develop treatments and concepts, analyse market and audience data to identify opportunities and refine strategy. Ensure adequate compliance rigour for a digital-first environment and the ability to document your work efficiently
  • Pitching: Prepare and present polished pitch decks where necessary for external stakeholders
  • Talent & Experts: Identify and secure on-screen talent, experts, and interview subjects relevant to each project
  • Pre-Production: Collaborate with Channel Manager and key stakeholders including, editors, project manager and production crew to prepare visual references, shot lists, and narrative arcs. Follow project work flow and document work effectively
  • Publication ability to schedule and post pre-edited content to YouTube and other platforms where applicable and to manage collaborate on publishing plan and strategy with relevant team members
  • Content Strategy Alignment: Work with audience development and analytics teams to ensure content aligns with audience interests and platform best practices
  • Trend Monitoring: Stay current on trends in the true crime genre, both on YouTube, Spotify, Facebook and across international platforms and channels.
  • Collaborate: With Creative Producers, Producers, Editors,Videographers, Legal advisors (where applicable), Contributors, Commercial and Creative leads.
  • Mentor and guide junior people where applicable; fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Ensure all content meets high-quality standards and adheres to agreed guidelines
  • Review content, and final edits to maintain consistency and quality
  • Implement feedback and revisions as needed to enhance content quality.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Proven in a development or producing role, preferably in true crime, documentary and digital media
  • Demonstrated success developing content for YouTube and social video, experience in traditional broadcast a bonus
  • Detailed knowledge of, and passion for crime content
  • Comfortable working with basic true crime compliance, with an understanding of fair dealing/fair use parameters, public domain footage and sensitive subject matters
  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, especially in the nonfiction and investigative space
  • Strong research skills with attention to factual accuracy and legal considerations. Experience in documenting archive, victim notifications, Right to Reply and liaison with law enforcement where necessary
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, follow project plans and document work effectively
  • Passion for true crime, investigative journalism, and compelling human stories
  • Comfortable working with data insights and audience feedback to inform creative decisions.
  • Team player that can be relied upon to problem solve collectively whilst being willing and able to manage work load and deliver own KPIs

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with YouTube analytics and SEO-driven content development
  • Familiarity with legal and ethical considerations in crime reporting
  • Network of crime producers, contributors, buyer connections a bonus
  • Experience in unscripted/documentary production (field or post)
  • Background in journalism, criminology, or psychology is a plus
