Creative Producer Jobs in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia at Punchy Studio

Punchy Studio is Australia’s leading visual communications agency for organisations with a public obligation, specialising in campaigns that drive behavioural change and empower communities.

We're on a mission to become the first choice for serious visual communications across APAC, and we're also a certified Great Place to Work!

Position Overview

We're on the hunt for an experienced and hands-on Producer to join our Production team and lead the delivery of projects across live-action, animation, and design.

You'll own projects end-to-end – from concept, scripting, and creative treatments through pre-production, production, and final delivery – while keeping clients across the country feeling informed, supported, and genuinely excited about the work.

You will join our existing production team, report to the Head of Production, and work alongside an amazing team of internal staff and freelancers.

You'll be producing animation, live-action video, and design work for our government, NGO, and enterprise clients – and working on creative treatments that help win it in the first place.

If you're equally comfortable directing a shoot day, briefing an animator, and writing a pitch deck that lands with a client, this could be the role for you.

There's also a growth angle to the role – spotting upsell and cross-sell opportunities during production and flagging them to Sales, to help retain and grow long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Delivery

  • Produce projects end-to-end across live-action, animation, and design – from concept through to final delivery.
  • Coordinate crew, talent, animators, designers, and other creative freelancers, briefing and directing them to bring concepts to life.
  • Manage live-action shoot-day logistics, including locations, equipment, and on-set safety.
  • Oversee creative development, ensuring style frames, storyboards, and visual direction align with the brief and brand.
  • Maintain accurate schedules, documentation, and project tracking, and ensure projects land on time, on brief, and within scope.
  • Develop and write creative treatments, concepts, and pitch decks for prospective and existing clients, and present them alongside Sales to help win the work.
  • Translate client briefs into compelling creative treatments that help win work.
  • Support sales and business development with fast-turnaround treatments when needed.
  • Lead project teams, including internal offshore staff and freelancers, providing regular feedback and direction across your Pod.
  • Provide visibility on capacity, delivery, and issues, and contribute to improving the production function.

Client Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing feedback, expectations, and approvals across every stage.
  • Build and strengthen long-term client relationships through clear, proactive communication.
  • Spot potential upsell and cross-sell opportunities that arise naturally through project delivery, flagging them to Sales to help grow and retain the client relationship.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrated hands-on production experience across live-action, animation, and design.
  • Confident creative treatment writing, with the ability to develop and present ideas that win work.
  • Proven track record leading project teams and managing freelancers/suppliers.
  • Strong project and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Clear, structured communicator, with the ability to balance creativity and commercial outcomes.
  • Proactive at identifying and resolving issues, risks, and blockers before they escalate.
  • Builds team capability through clear feedback and direction.
  • Drives accountability and consistency across a delivery team.
  • Ability to systemise and operationalise a growing production function.

Working Conditions

  • The role requires working according to AEST (Australian Eastern Standard Time).
  • The position is remote-friendly, ideally based in Melbourne or Sydney (Melbourne team averages 2 in-office days per week).
  • Travel may be required for interstate meetings and an annual team trip to the Philippines.
