SUMMARY:
The Carpenter plays a vital role in bringing innovative environments to life by building and assembling custom trade show exhibits, experiential activations, and retail displays. This position requires a high level of craftsmanship, attention to detail, and efficiency throughout the fabrication process.
Working closely with the fabrication team, Carpenters help transform creative concepts into high-quality physical builds that align with design intent, engineering specifications, and fast-paced show schedules. This role is ideal for skilled builders who take pride in precision work, collaborative problem-solving, and delivering exceptional results while upholding the company’s quality and safety standards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Build custom exhibit components, scenic elements, retail displays, and experiential environments.
- Interpret CAD drawings, shop drawings, and construction documents.
- Work with materials including: Wood and plywood, Laminates, MDF, Acrylics, Aluminum framing, Scenic finishes and specialty materials
- Follow assigned tasks and production schedules.
- Assist with staging, packing, and preparing projects for shipping.
- Communicate potential build challenges or material issues to the Shop Carpentry Lead or Fabrication Production Manager.
- Occasionally support show-site adjustments and installs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment.
- Practice safety procedures and proper tool usage.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years hands-on experience in carpentry, woodworking, or exhibit fabrication.
- Experience in trade show exhibits, scenic fabrication, retail builds, or experiential environments.
- Familiarity with CNC workflows and digital fabrication.
- Ability to safely operate shop equipment and material handling equipment, such as forklifts.
- Experience working with beMatrix or modular exhibit systems.
- Ability to read shop drawings, CAD drawings, and fabrication plans.
- Proficiency with shop tools including: Table saw, Panel saw, Routers, Planers, Sanders, and Hand tools
- Knowledge of: Laminates, Paints & Finishes, Cabinetry construction, Scenic fabrication techniques, and Exhibit systems (beMatrix, aluminum frames, etc.)

We are looking for someone who can work out of our Huntington Beach, CA, Headquarters.
