Old Spike Roastery is a specialty coffee company built on the belief that exceptional coffee, commercial excellence and meaningful social impact can go hand in hand. Founded in London in 2015, we roast specialty coffee, operate a growing network of cafés and supply businesses across the UK.

Alongside this, we run a Barista Training and Employment Programme that supports people experiencing homelessness into meaningful work.

Our ambition is to build one of the UK’s most respected coffee brands while creating real employment opportunities for people experiencing homelessness.

The Role

We are looking for a Brand and Marketing Manager to help shape how Old Spike shows up in the world and to ensure our brand activity translates into real commercial growth. This role sits at the intersection of brand, marketing and partnerships, helping drive awareness and demand across our cafés, wholesale business and ecommerce channels.

You will act as the guardian and amplifier of the Old Spike brand, ensuring everything we do from campaigns and partnerships to café activations and product launches, consistently brings new customers into the business. Working closely with our Growth Marketing Manager and Content / CRO Manager, you will help ensure our storytelling, campaigns and brand activity translate into customer acquisition, café footfall and long‑term brand equity.

Mission of the Role

To build Old Spike into one of London’s most recognisable impact focused, specialty coffee brands while helping drive customer growth across cafés, wholesale and ecommerce.

Key Responsibilities

Brand guardianship

  • Ensure consistency across visual identity, tone of voice and campaign creative.
  • Oversee brand execution across cafés, packaging and digital channels.
  • Maintain and evolve the Old Spike brand system.

Drive customer growth across channels

  • Support commercial growth by strengthening brand awareness.
  • Help generate new customers across cafés, ecommerce and wholesale.
  • Work alongside the growth team to support measurable business growth.

Increase café footfall

  • Support local marketing initiatives for café locations.
  • Develop partnerships with nearby businesses and communities.
  • Deliver events and activations to bring customers into cafés.

Lead brand launches and storytelling

  • Own the narrative around new coffee launches and seasonal campaigns.
  • Connect product storytelling with Old Spike’s impact mission.

Partnerships and collaborations

  • Develop collaborations with hospitality brands, cultural organisations and partners.
  • Create brand moments that introduce Old Spike to new audiences.

Strengthen wholesale storytelling

  • Support the commercial team with B2B brand storytelling and presentations.
  • Help produce case studies, impact communications and partnership materials.

Shape our social voice

  • Guide the strategic direction of Old Spike’s social presence.
  • Ensure social channels support both brand storytelling and commercial growth.
  • Manage junior member of the social media team.

About You

You are a brand thinker with strong marketing instincts and a clear understanding of how brand activity translates into customer growth. You likely have experience working with hospitality, coffee or consumer brands and understand how physical locations and brand storytelling combine to build momentum.

Strong understanding of UK specialty coffee or hospitality culture.

  • Ability to connect brand activity with commercial growth.
  • Strong eye for design, tone and brand consistency.
  • Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with hands‑on execution.
  • Interested in building a brand that people genuinely care about.

Role Details

  • Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience.
  • Working pattern: Hybrid – typically 3 days per week in our London office or cafés.
  • Hours: Full time (40 hours per week).
  • Location: London with travel across our café network required.
  • Probation period: 3 months.
