Responsibilities

  • Create initial patterns in requested base or photo sample sizes, applying an initial grade to ensure proper fit and adherence to standard sizing.
  • Balance fit, fabric yield, and design intent through thoughtful pattern execution and problem solving.
  • Participate actively in development fit sessions, reviewing patterns with Technical Design and Design partners and making real‑time adjustments.
  • Apply grading upon style adoption to support production across all ordered sizes and size ranges.
  • Create and manage multiple size ranges, including grading opposite models and hand grading components as needed.
  • Verify all specifications against patterns and communicate required updates to Technical Design to ensure alignment.
  • Track daily workflow to meet development and production timelines and maintain accurate internal documentation.
  • Attend Technical Design handovers to ensure clear communication of pattern and fit details.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional partners across Product Development, Sourcing, Merchandising, Purchasing, QA, Distribution, and Customer Service.
  • Partner with Senior Patternmakers and Pattern leadership to troubleshoot issues and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Product Development, or a related field preferred.

Experience:

1 to 3 years of pattern making experience or relevant apparel industry experience required.

  • Flat pattern making and draping experience.
  • Working knowledge of pattern making software, preferably Lectra (Modaris).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to receive feedback and communicate in a professional, collaborative manner.
