Assistant Professor – Costume Construction and Wardrobe Management

Mac Ewan University seeks an artist-educator specializing in costume construction and wardrobe management to fill a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor
, beginning July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will have a diverse skill-set that draws from their area of specialization, and the ability to teach courses in other areas. The ability to work effectively in a student-centered, collegial environment will be an asset to implementing changes to the new Theatre Production curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate courses in costume construction and wardrobe management and related theatre production areas.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Theatre Production curriculum.
  • Engage in scholarly activity and service within the department.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Master’s degree in theatre or a related discipline.
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
  • Extensive background in theatre production and wardrobe management.
  • Evidence of active research practice is an asset.

In addition, applicants will submit a teaching dossier that includes a teaching philosophy; a record of courses taught and course evaluations.
