Overview
ART DIRECTOR – HEAD OF VISUAL STORYTELLING Jobs in Amsterdam, North Holland, Netherlands at Stieglitz
Company Description
Stieglitz is an Amsterdam-based fashion brand known for its bold design language, strong community and cultural energy.
We create collections for women who take up space without asking for permission. Bold pieces designed to be seen and remembered.
What started as an independent label has grown into a multi-channel brand, available through leading retailers and our own direct channels.
Now, we’re focused on what comes next: Building a global boutique streetwear brand that is impossible to ignore.
We are entering our next phase of growth: building a sharper, stronger and more scalable business with people who want to make an impact.
That takes strong product, disciplined execution and storytelling people actually care about.
The Role
We’re looking for a highly hands-on Art Director to create and shape the visual output of Stieglitz across every drop and campaign.
Someone who understands that great creative is not decoration. It creates desire, builds recognition and moves people to act.
You will lead how our drops come to life across campaign storytelling, video, social, e-mail and digital touchpoints.
You won’t just make things look better. You’ll make them matter more.
This is not a purely directing role. We are looking for someone who loves to create. Someone who can move fast, think visually and translate ideas into high-quality output on a daily basis.
You should feel just as comfortable building assets yourself as directing others when needed.
Physical-to-Digital Creativity
- We’re looking for someone with a strong creative foundation.
- We love working with creatives who make. People who paint, draw, experiment, build and explore ideas beyond the screen.
- You understand colour, composition, texture and visual storytelling, and know how to translate those skills into strong creative work across campaigns, social media, video, e-mail and digital channels.
- We’re looking for a creator, not just a content maker.
What you’ll do
Own the narrative behind every drop
- You shape the creative narrative for launches and campaigns.
- From first hook to final rollout, you know how to turn a collection into something people notice, talk about and want.
- You help translate collection energy into recognizable campaign worlds with clear visual and emotional direction. You help shape how Stieglitz looks, feels and is remembered.
- Through campaigns, content and creative systems, you contribute to the visual language of the brand and help evolve it over time.
Lead visual & digital storytelling
- You think beyond static assets.
- You know how to use video, motion, sequencing, pacing, channel-native storytelling and social-first formats to build momentum before, during and after launch.
- You understand how digital storytelling works across Instagram, TikTok, paid social, e-mail, website and launch moments.
Own how the brand shows up
- You are responsible for the creative consistency of all customer-facing channels, including social media feed & formats, e-mail design and visual direction, website campaign moments, paid creative assets and launch content across touchpoints.
- Everything should feel connected, distinctive and recognizable.
- You are able to translate campaign concepts into strong visual output across social, e-mail, paid and web.
- You understand how to build recognizable creative systems instead of isolated assets.
- This role is highly hands-on. You will be expected to create a large part of the visual output yourself.
- You can quickly move between concepting, designing, editing, feedback and production.
- You understand how to bring physical craftsmanship into digital output.
- You know how to translate handmade artwork, textures, painting, illustration, mixed media and experimentation into modern campaign assets, social storytelling and digital brand experiences.
- You are a creator first. Not just someone giving feedback from the sidelines.
Work with creatives & freelancers
- You work closely with internal team members, photographers, videographers, editors, freelancers and creators.
- You give direction, review output, guard quality and help elevate the overall creative level of the brand.
Build systems, not chaos
- You create repeatable frameworks, templates and smarter ways of working so the team can move faster without lowering standards.
- You help build a more scalable and recognizable creative operating system around every drop.
