This role is for a visually sharp, conceptually driven creative who understands how to translate strategy into beautiful, compelling work—and who thrives in a collaborative, fast-moving environment.
This role reports to the Director of Brand & Creative and works closely with the brand, marketing, product, social, and production teams, as well as external artists and creative partners, to translate strategy into elevated, culturally resonant creative. This is a hands-on leadership role for a visually driven storyteller who can marry marketing objectives with cutting-edge, industry-leading, creative work.
What You’ll Do
- Own and execute art direction across brand campaigns, product launches, editorial content, social, e-commerce, and experiential moments
- Translate creative strategy, brand vision, and marketing objectives into compelling visual systems and storytelling
- Establish and evolve design guidelines for both campaign and evergreen creative—ensuring clarity, consistency, and excellence across all touchpoints
- Lead visual development for campaigns and photoshoots—from concepting and moodboards through on-set direction and post-production
- Partner closely with the social team and external artists, photographers, and creators to concept and commission highly engaging, on-brand content
- Ensure all creative feels elevated, modern, and distinctly Crown Affair—balancing restraint, beauty, and cultural relevance
- Manage and mentor a talented group of designers, providing clear direction, thoughtful feedback, and support for growth and development
- Contribute to the ongoing evolution of Crown Affair’s visual language, pushing the brand forward while honoring its core aesthetic
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing creative ambition with timelines, budgets, and production realities

What You Bring
- 5–7+ years of experience in art direction or design, ideally within fashion, beauty, lifestyle, or luxury
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong concepting, campaign thinking, and execution across digital and physical mediums
- Experience art directing photo and video shoots and working with external creative partners
- Fluency in Adobe Creative Suite and comfort collaborating with motion, social, and production teams
- A strong understanding of brand systems, typography, composition, photography, and color
- Clear communication skills and a strong point of view grounded in intention and taste
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in art direction, graphic design, or a related field, with a portfolio that supports a range of experience of digital & print design concepts and execution
- High proficiency in Adobe Suite programs
- Strong creative thinking capabilities and problem-solving skills
- A high attention to detail with the ability to keep digital assets organized
- A record of being an effective and empowering creative leader
- Knowledge of industry trends and deep understanding of landscape
- Prior people management experience, with an ability to mentor and inspire a small team
- An ability to develop effective relationships and be a contributing team member and leader within the Creative team
- An ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, and quickly pivot when priorities shift
- Effective communication skills and feedback skills, with an an ability to give, and receive feedback, and incorporate constructive creative feedback in a collaborative manner
- An ability to work autonomously and provide self-direction
- Previous experience in luxury retail, fashion or beauty brand preferred
- Ability to commute to LA or NYC office 1 day per week
