The Art Director will lead the visual development and execution of creative services within the experiential marketing team, ensuring high-quality delivery across graphic design, signage, brand identity, and print production. This role is fundamentally rooted in 2D design excellence which includes: translating brand guidelines into compelling, production-ready visual assets across signage, environmental graphics, printed materials, and client-facing presentations. The Art Director will manage creative freelancers, contribute to client presentations, and ensure all visual outputs align with client objectives, brand identity, and budget parameters. This role will also play a key part in growing our brand design practice, developing cohesive brand identities and translating them across experiential touchpoints including packaging, event wrappers, and branded environmental design. A background in 3D visualization is a plus, but not required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead visual design and execution across signage, environmental graphics, branded print materials, deck design and audits, and brand code development.
  • Translate brand guidelines into cohesive, production-ready design assets including signage systems, wayfinding, branded collateral, and experiential print pieces.
  • Develop and maintain brand visual standards across all creative touchpoints, ensuring consistency and alignment with each client's brand identity.
  • Produce art-ready files for fabrication and print vendors, with a strong understanding of print production specifications, material considerations, and output requirements.
  • Support creative strategy and overall art direction across experiential marketing programs.
  • Manage and direct creative freelancers and external designers to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Participate in client-facing presentations, clearly communicating visual concepts and creative rationale.
  • Develop innovative, budget-conscious creative solutions that maintain strong visual impact while meeting production constraints.
  • Collaborate closely with production, operations, and marketing teams to integrate creative vision with real-world fabrication and execution requirements.
  • Maintain oversight of creative timelines, revisions, approvals, and final asset delivery.
  • Stay current on experiential design trends, print and fabrication techniques, materials, and emerging visualization technologies.
  • Provide mentorship and design guidance to junior creative team members, supporting craft excellence and technical growth.
  • Where applicable, support or oversee 3D visualization assets in collaboration with freelance 3D artists or in-house resources.
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Fine Arts, or a related field.
    • 5–8+ years of experience in art direction or senior design roles within experiential marketing, advertising, environmental design, or a related industry.
    • Strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in graphic design, signage systems, brand identity, and print production — with clear evidence of translating brand guidelines into cohesive visual programs.
    • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) — this is non-negotiable and central to the role.
    • Deep understanding of print production processes, fabrication specifications, and file preparation for large-format signage and environmental graphics.
    • Proven ability to produce press-ready and fabrication-ready design documentation.
    • Experience managing freelancers or contributing to collaborative creative teams.
    • Strong client communication and presentation skills.
    • Ability to balance creative vision, brand accuracy, and budget realities.
    • Excellent organizational and project management capabilities, with the ability to handle multiple concurrent projects.
    • Deep understanding of visual storytelling, spatial design, and experiential brand engagement.
    • Experience in brand development and identity design, including applications such as packaging, event branding, and experiential wrappers, with the ability to build and scale a brand design practice from concept through production-ready execution.
    • Experience with 3D visualization tools such as SketchUp, Cinema 4D, or similar is a plus, but not required.
