Responsibilities
- Address the needs of a diverse student population through course materials, teaching strategies, and advisement.
- Teach one or more undergraduate seminars in Art, including “The Artist in Contemporary Culture” and “Medium and Message.”
- Courses may be hybrid or online but include a substantial studio component.
- Participate in departmental meetings and assessment and evaluation activities.
- Encourage critical thinking and iterative concept development in class assignments.
- Demonstrate inclusive teaching practices for students of varied ages, abilities, cultural backgrounds, and identities.
- Organize all classes within the Canvas Learning Management System (LMS).
- Deliver all scheduled classes in the assigned format throughout the semester or term.
Qualifications
- Master of Fine Arts or Ph.D. in Art History, Visual Culture, or related field.
- Significant experience teaching studio art at the university level.
- Clear demonstration of artistic and/or scholarly achievement, including a substantial portfolio of creative work and research interests.
- Familiarity with emerging areas of artistic practice and theory.
- Strong reading, writing, and assessment skills for undergraduate students.
- Awareness and sensitivity to the educational goals of a multicultural student population.
Compensation
Salary ranges are based on qualifications and experience. Anticipated monthly salary for full‑time faculty:
